We provide the services of a trained care worker to carry out tasks that enable you to continue managing at home. Care workers receive adequate support and ongoing training, with review for client satisfaction and monitoring of the working relationship.
You are responsible for providing cleaning agents and equipment for household tasks. A full subsidy applies if you hold a Community Service Card — this does not necessarily cover visits to hospitals/specialists outside South Auckland.
Areas covered: Panmure/Glen Innes, Mt Wellington, Onehunga, Otara, Papatoetoe, Mangere, Otahuhu, Manurewa, Manukau, Wiri, Takanini and Papakura.
You will be assessed by the NASC team (Needs Assessor and Service Co-ordinator), responsible to the Ministry of Health for managing the Disability Community Support Services budget. They determine your eligibility, the amount and type of services you require, and let you choose the Service Provider that best meets your assessed needs.
There is a means and asset test criteria — generally a Community Service Card provides a full subsidy. The needs assessment is completed by a health professional in the presence of family/whanau, incorporating your culture and language when choosing a support worker.

Attendant Care is personal care support for any person with a degree of physical disability, so they can engage in the activities, pursuits and processes of everyday life. Assessment identifies the level and nature of assistance required.
